According to the MSME Development Act, buyers must pay the registered MSME within 45 days. Failing to do so invites interest penalties (3x bank rate).
Government departments and PSUs give preference to MSMEs in procurement processes. Some tenders are exclusively reserved for MSMEs, and EMD (Earnest Money Deposit) is often waived.
