Udyog Aadhaar is an identity card for Micro, small and medium enterprises. It is only a registration which can be used as an identity proof for your business for opening a bank account, getting VAT or service tax registration, others.

D) How to apply for Udyog Aadhaar?

- Validate your Aadhaar Number
Visit
- www.udyogaadhaar.gov.in website.
- On the home page, there will be an option where you need to enter your 12 digit
Aadhaar number and your name (Name as displayed on the Aadhaar card should be
entered, otherwise form will not be processes).

Click on “Validate & Generate OTP”

If your mobile number is lined with your Aadhaar, then you will receive an OTP on
your registered number. Enter the received OTP in the given field and click “Validate”
option.
If your mobile number is not registered with your Aadhaar, then you can do either of
the following options:
Step 2: Personal Details
Once Aadhaar is validated, you will have to fill the application form. The applicant will
have to provide the following personal details:
Select the social category (General, Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe or Other
Backward Caste (OBC). The proof of belonging to SC, ST or OBC may be asked by
appropriate authority, if and when required.
Gender of the applicant.
Whether the applicant is handicapped.
Step 3: Details of the enterprise
- The applicant will have to provide the following details of his/her enterprise:
- The name of the enterprise or business.
- Select the type of the organization (E.g. Proprietorship concern, Partnership firm,
Company etc.).
- (The Applicant must ensure that he/she is authorized by the
organization/enterprise to fill this online form.)
- Enter PAN number of the business. If your organization type is Proprietorship
concern, then you can enter proprietors PAN.
- Complete postal address of the plant of the enterprise/organization.

Complete postal address of the enterprise including State, District, Pin code, Mobile
No and Email.The date on which the organization started its operations.

Select the major activity of the enterprise i.e. either "Manufacturing" or "Service"
should be chosen. If the business activity consists of both type of activities and if
major portion of the activity in manufacturing and small portion of activity is service
then select major activity type as "manufacturing". If major portion of the activity is
services and small portion of activity is manufacturing then select your major activity
type as "services".

Applicant should enter the National Industrial Classification-2008 (NIC) Code
applicable to their activity. The applicant can choose multiple NIC codes if the
enterprise is engaged in more than one category of business i.e. manufacturing and
service by clicking "Add More" button.
- Number of persons employed by the applicant for his/her enterprise i.e. the total
number of people who are directly paid salary/ wages by the enterprise.
Step 4: Bank details
You need to provide your bank account number used for business transactions. Also,
provide IFS Code.
Step 5: Investment in Plant and Machinery/ Equipment

Enter the total amount invested in plant and Machinery (For manufacturing activity) or
equipment (For service activity).

Step 6: Location of District Industries Centre (DIC)
- Based on the location of the enterprise/organisation, choose the appropriate DIC. This
Column will be active only when there are more than one DIC in the district. If there is
only one DIC in your district, then the system will automatically register you in the same
DIC
Step 7: Submit the form

Click on Submit button to generate OTP which will be sent to the registered email id.

Enter the OTP and click “Final Submit button”
Step 8: Udyog Aadhaar
- On submitting the form Udyog Aadhaar will be automatically generated and will be
available for downloading.
- If you have submitted an ID proof other than Aadhaar card, then here you need to upload the ID proof. Once the ministry verifies the ID proof, you will receive the copy of Udyog Aadhaar on your registered email id.
